One name, different purposes
Cookies can let a browser store small pieces of information associated with a site. Maintaining a session, remembering a preference and measuring usage are different purposes. Not every cookie does the same job. When reading a consent screen, look for what information is used and why, rather than only the accept button.
Make an informed choice
Look for information about providers, retention and how to change preferences. Browser settings and site-level choices may have different scopes. Clearing cookies can sign you out or reset preferences; it does not mean that every piece of information about you has been deleted from the internet.
The approach on this site
This initial version does not include advertising trackers or an analytics service. Language follows the link you select, without automatic geolocation or browser-language redirection. If the publisher later adds analytics or an external form service, the privacy explanation must reflect that data flow. Hosting infrastructure logs require separate consideration.
